First Robotic Pancreatectomy @ FSH

27/7/21 today at Fiona Stanley Hospital we undertook the first robotic distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic adenocarcinoma in Western Australia. Robotic surgery allows better visualisation and manipulation of the tissues than standard laparoscopic surgery and the indications for it are expanding quickly within General Surgery. Robotic surgery is available at Hollywood Private Hospital for liver and pancreas surgery plus complex abdominal hernia surgery including revision hiatus hernia repair.
