Since the recent class actions regarding placement of permanent pelvic mesh products, there have been several absorbable mesh products released to the market. These have shown good results over long term trials and are in many cases equivalent to plastic meshes in term of recurrence rates, with fewer complications such as infection and chronic pain.

With recent concerns about the presence of plastics in our bodies, non - plastic mesh devices are being requested by patients more frequently and Dr Webber has sought to make these products available to his patients.
